From a village madrasa to a model school
For many years, Mr. Kamiluddin ran a madrasa in Bhera Shareef, District Haripur, where more than 1,500 students successfully completed their Islamic education. Over time he saw a clear gap: there were very few academic institutions in the Hazara region that offered a sound modern education alongside Islamic learning.
That need gave birth to the Kamil Ud Din Islamic Model School (KIMS), a place where academic standards sit side by side with Islamic thought, practice, culture and knowledge. Run on a non-profit, voluntary service model, the school has opened its gates to more than 300 girls and boys, entirely free of cost.
The Kamil Ud Din Foundation carries this work forward. It raises and manages the funds, Zakat and Sadqah that keep the school free, and works to expand education and welfare for the wider community.
